The S10CVJ-L uses 100% Texas cotton which is famous for being a "rough" cotton due to it's high amount of short fibers. Normally, the short fibers are removed to make a smoother fabric, but Samurai addsmore short cotton fibers to make the yarn even rougher. The result is a yarn that is highly uneven in size, making the woven fabric very "slubby" (irregular). Moreover, while most denim manufacturers who use Texas cotton mix it with different cottons from various other areas, Samurai uses only 100% Texas cotton. Even the sewing thread is made of 100% Texas cotton. This creates a jean that captures the essence and spirit of this tough Texas denim.
Samurai have produced a few styles now using their 15oz Texas cotton denim but all were in the traditional right hand twill denim while the S10CVJ-L uses this Texas cotton in a left hand twill denim and in an heavier 18oz denim. Left hand twill denims generally produce a softer hand so the end result, a mixture of these rough and soft properties, is a unique 100% short cotton fiber Texas denim in a smooth left hand weave.Left Hand Twill Denim Coverall

I bought a pair of these about 3 years ago. The low rise makes them quite uncomfortable in the crotch/seat and the short pocket bags & small pocket openings were slightly frustrating. Regardless, the fabric is sensational!!! Japanese Denim
